Pleasantville Signs started as a part time at-home business back in 1999. For 6 years they worked with a very primitive 24" Roland cutter/ plotter, CorelDraw and the basic knowledge of computer skills. They started with one customer and built their clientele by creating quality signage with great customer service. In 2005, they decided to upgrade their machinery. They invested in a 30" Mimaki JV3 digital imager and upgraded their cutter to a 48" Summa. These machines have taken Pleasantville Signs into a world where anything is possible.
Robert & Nadine Sarty have lived in Pleasantville for 10 years and has loved every minute of it. They have a wonderful view of the mouth of the LaHave River. On a clear day, they can see across the river to Riverport, a small but popular fishing community. They live minutes from Crescent and Rissers beaches, and 10 minutes from one of Nova Scotia's fastest growing towns, Bridgewater.
Pleasantville Signs is very proud to have such a wide variety of clientele, including Abitibi/Bowater, CKBW Radio, LIFE, HRM, Town of Bridgewater, Exxon, Scotiabank, and many more corporate companies. And knowing what it's like to run a small business, they like to cater to the small business owner. They will open their shop in the evenings to assist the self-employed plumber or contractor because they have worked all day, and the evening is the only time they can deal with signage.
Robert & Nadine care about their community and like to see it flourish and stay safe. Robert has been a member of the Pleasantville & District Fire Dept. as a volunteer fighter for the past 10 years and has been the treasurer for more than half that time. Nadine has been an in-direct member for the department, baking pies, making sandwiches and helping any way she can. In return, both Robert and Nadine have received Community Service Awards for their efforts.
They also like to contribute in other ways. Since the beginning of 2007, Pleasantville Signs has donated thousands of dollars in products and services to several charitable organizations and educational institutes. They are proud to be a part of Habitat for Humanity, Salvation Army, United Way, CKBW Food Bank Drives, Community Wheels, BARC, and they like to help the local schools and fire departments.
